This lesson will show you how to import reader users from a CSV file. This can be helpful if you are migrating a lot of users from a different system.
Prepare your csv file so that the columns are in the format FirstName, LastName, Login, Password, Email, Group. The group and email fields are optional. You can prepare the file in a program such as Excel or Numbers or most database programs.
IMPORTANT: You must export the file as a CSV file. You cannot import a .xls file.
Login and choose the Admin > Users menu item. Click on Import Users.
Choose a file (the csv file that you exported) and then select Upload. Your users will be imported. If you included an email address then they will be sent an email notification of their new account.
