Change the Shortcut for Screen Captures in Mac OS X (10.4) |
||||
IntroductionMac OS X has a great built-in screen capture utility but the default key command for capturing a picture to the clipboard is a little cumbersome (cmd-ctrl-shift-4). This lesson will show you how to change it to something a little easier to use. This lesson applies to Mac OS 10.4. Select System Preferences From the Apple Menu
Select Keyboad & Mouse
Select Keyboard Shortcuts
Select the Keyboard Shortcuts tab and expand the Screen Shots section. Change Shortcut
Double-click on the Shortcut column and press the new key combination. In this example I have used cmd-shift-3. IMPORTANT: Make sure that you use a key command you choose doesn't conflict with another key command. Cmd-shift-3 by default will save a picture to a file. I don't use that option a lot so I have disabled it by unchecking the box next to it.
Your new shortcut is now set up. |
