Uploading HTML Lessons to Your .Mac Site

This lesson will teach you how to upload lessons created in ScreenSteps to your .Mac site.

Open Your iDisk

Select Finder, and then Go > iDisk > My iDisk.

Select Sites

Create a "lessons" folder

Select New Folder and create a "lessons" folder. This is where we will upload our ScreenSteps lessons to.

Export Your Lesson as HTML

Open your lesson in ScreenSteps and select Export > HTML.

Create a Folder on your Local Drive

I create a new folder called "lessons" on my local drive as well, either on my desktop or in my Documents folder.

Save HTML File in That Folder

Select the folder that you created and select Save.

Copy Files to iDisk

Copy the files from your local "lessons" folder (1) to your iDisk "lessons" folder (2).

View Lessons in Browser

You can now enter the url for your lesson in your browser. It will be http://homepage.mac.com/YOUR_USER_NAME/lessons/THE_TITLE OF_THE HTML_FILE_YOU_EXPORTED_FROM_SCREENSTEPS. For example it might be "http://homepage.mac.com/greg/lessons/my_lesson.html".

Adding a Another Lesson

Export the next lesson just as before.

Save in Local Lessons Folder

Save it in the local "lessons" folder.

You should now see this. You have a new html file (1) and a new folder in the "images" folder (2).

Upload Both Files to Your iDisk Lessons Folder

Place the new html file in the iDisk "lessons" folder and the new folder in the "images" folder.

Your iDisk should now look like this.
