Exporting to Blog

This lesson will show you how to use the Export To Blog feature available in version 2.0.3 of ScreenSteps. To use this feature you must have a ScreenSteps Live account. You can signup for one here.

Overview

Here is a quick overview of how exporting to a blog works.

1. You click export to blog.
2. Your lesson and all of the images are uploaded to ScreenSteps Live.
3. You are given html code that has links to those images which you can then paste into a blog, website, forum, etc.

Export to Blog

Select Export > Blog. NOTE: This will only work with lessons, not with topics.

Select Template

Select your template. Two are provided but you can create your own. The Neutral template does not apply any styling so all of the styling will come from your blog site. The "styled" template has some basic font sizes and image spacing.

Once you have selected your template select Upload.

Copy HTML Code

The lesson will be uploaded to ScreenSteps Live and you will be given a dialog box showing you the code that you can paste into your blog. Just select Copy to Clipboard.

Create Blog Post

Create a new post on your blog. Make sure that you are in the Code editing mode and not the Visual editing mode. The labels may be different for your blog. You just want to make sure that you are pasting into an area that accepts HTML code.

Paste Text

Paste your text into the blog post and select Save.

Done

Here is an example of what my blog post looks like. NOTE: Sometimes it can take a few seconds for your images to appear in the blog post right after you have posted the lesson. Just refresh your browser and you should see them appear. This only happens right after you post a lesson.
